01. Clattering
A script font created with a brushstroke, Clattering has a loverly dynamic movement and fluidity. Confident, with a carefree but slightly hurried energy, it’s surprisingly versatile for use in different contexts. Against a beach-orientated background it can create a surfer-chic look, but in a black and white composition with a classic image, it can pull off a much more elegant look. It’s free for personal use but you’ll need to pay for a commercial licence.
02. Seaweed Script
Seaweed Script offers a characterful font that wouldn’t look out of place on the likes of a pirate map. With its uneven edges, Seaweed Script looks very earthy and authentic. This font is available to use on both personal and commercial projects, but make sure you read the fine print beforehand.

06. America
Inspired by This is America, Childish Gambino’s hit song of 2018, America boasts large dramatic capitals and a natural flowing stroke. There’s a lovely 3D feel to this rough bold, hand-lettering script font. Handwriting script fonts can often look a little fake and contrived, but here’s one that looks more like real writing. An extension and redesign of the Arsenale White typeface, Bimbo was created in 2018 by Francesco Canovaro for Zetafonts. 19. Alex Brush
There’s a beautiful flow to this cursive font, which was created by designer Rob Leuschke of TypeSETit. Alex Brush features short ascenders and descenders, and is nice and legible. It’s free for both personal and commercial use.
20. La Sonnambula
Designed by Fernando Haro, La Sonnambula is a handwritten and extended font that’s been designed with calligraphic texts and elegant titles in mind. It’s named after an opera by Vincenzo Bellini, performed by Maria Callas in Milan in 1957. However despite its classic roots, it’s bang up to date, even including a Bitcoin symbol.
